Tourist Horror Thriller Movies
Can’t get enough of tourist themed movies? Here’s a list that may be of interest. For unseasoned tourist like myself, I couldn’t help but stay cautious when it comes to making travel plans. Here’s a list of horror/thriller/slasher films that’s about backpacking tourists.
Hostel (Click on title for review)
Josh, Paxton and Oli enjoyed their Eurotrip in a stereotypical annoying “American Tourist” way. Despite being in Amsterdam aka the “Pot and Pussy Paradise”, they don’t seem to have much luck in hooking up. That changed when a chance meeting with Alex referred them to a more American tourist friendly place in Bratislava. The place have something to offer and more than that.

American Tourists Beth, Lorna and Whitney enjoyed themselves in Slovakia. They met a charming young woman who promised them things that every female tourist wanted. Little did they know that they’ve been lured into a most deadly and horrifying experience in their entire life.
Turistas (Review coming soon)
The two siblings Alex and Bea along with their female friend Amy decides to spend their holiday backpacking at the exotic Brazil. While the two girls are enjoying the trip, Alex wasn’t thrilled about the idea. However the bus accident left them stranded in a small town. Their unfortunate situation gained them new tourist friends and a local guy named Kiko. Things went wrong when they got drugged and their belongings were stolen. To make the matter worst, the locals were hostile towards them. Their friend Kiko deceived them into going to a house up in the mountain promising them shelter. Little did they know what’s in store for them.
Cannibal Holocaust (Review coming soon)
Professor Monroe, an anthropologist leads an expedition to retrieve the missing film crew in the Amazon. A Yancumo tribe member that was held hostage helped him get through the Amazon jungles and to the Yanomamo Tribe. Professor Monroe’s greatest fear was realized when he was led to the shrine with the bones of what seemed to be the remains of the missing film crew. He negotiated with the Yanomamo to trade his tape recorder for the film reel. After getting the reels, he heads back to New York and viewed the film. He was in shock to see the series of events which led to the team’s untimely demise.
Anaconda (Review coming soon)
Professor Terri Flores, Professor Steve Cale and the film crew went deep into the Amazon swamps looking for the elusive Amazon Tribe to document them. On the way, they rescued a strange man stranded in the swamp. Turns out that Paul Sarone was a snake hunter who will do anything to capture the famed anaconda snake. When Professor Cale got stung by an insect that made him unconscious, Sarone made himself the captain of the boat and pursued the monstrous anaconda. Will the crew survive the monstrous snake?
The Ruins (Review coming soon)
Four American tourist couples were vacationing in Mexico. Their new friend from Germany named Mathias invites them to explore an archeological site. Unfortunately when they reached the place, they were surrounded by hostile locals. They seek refuge in the vine covered temple ruins. Turns out that the gun wielding angry locals are much more safer than what’s lurking inside the temple.
Cabin Fever (Review coming soon)
College students Paul, Karen, Marcy, Jeff and Bert spent their vacation up in the mountain cabin. Things were going well until Bert accidentally shoot a diseased man while out on hunting. When the wounded man asked for their help they killed him. Their friend Karen contracts the disease that eats her flesh, they sent her out to the shed fearing that they’ll contract the disease too. Sooner, each of them also contracts the mysterious disease.
Dance of the Dwarfs (Review coming soon)
Archeologist Dr. Evelyn Howard along with her drunk helicopter pilot went into the deep jungle looking for the missing archeologist Dr. Eslinger. A scuffle with the Bandits shot the oil line of their Helicopter which leave them no choice but to land. Upon landing their chooper, they managed to find a couple who runs a fuel station. It turns out that the missing archeologist happened to stay at the couple’s place before he went missing. She found his journal and was intrigued at the Archeologist finding on the dwarfs that she wants to see for herself, heeding the warning from the couple. Will Dr. Evelyn Howard find Dwarfs’ domain and live to tell the tale?
