The son of a mexican couple was haunted by evil forces. They sought the help of the local spirit medium named Shaun San Dena who lives in a mansion located in Pasadena California. San Dena asked the couple what did the boy do that made the spirits torment him. They told her that their boy stole a necklace from gypsies in town. However the owner of the necklace refused to accept as they tried to give it back since they have already cursed the boy. They went inside the house to prepare for the seance to save the boy. Verdict

“Drag me to Hell” movie starts out well, you get attached to the characters which can be both good and a bad thing. I get so affected at the unexpected twist of the plot. Basically the theme of the film is about desperation. You can feel how Christine was so desperate enough to go beyond her norms just to save her soul. Unlike other horror films I’ve watched, “Drag me to Hell” was surprising endearing and has a whole lot of action.

I was initially intrigued at the poster of the movie and the marketing gimmick that a director of web spinnining superhero. I wasn’t aware that Sam Raimi was also the master behind Army of Darkness, I was too young that time and there’s no internet so excuse my ignorance. At first I’m pretty much distracted with Justin Long in the movie. He reminds me of the flamboyant gay character he played in “Zack and Miri”. Check out the discreet product placement of Apple since the guy Apple’s poster boy.

Just like Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, Raimi combines the horror and comedy. Watch out for various 80′s homage. I’m so attached to the kitten that looks exactly like our pet. When I got home after watching the movie, the first thing I did was check up on her.

Sadako Rating:
Fear Factor: 9 out of 10 – This movie made me scream so many times that I’m so embarrassed.
Violence and Gore: 9 out of 10 – You can expect an all out gore fest the Sam Raimi way. Be sure that you’re not eating anything when watching it.
Nudity and Sex: 0 – Yup it’s surprisingly tame which is safe to watch with the whole family.
Replay value: Definitely a must watch when staying over at friend’s house on halloween
