Ferdinand Marcos – The Unburied Dictator

imelda-kisses-coffin-of-ferdinand-marcos

Former Philippines dictator Ferdinand Marcos was driven out of the country in 1986 EDSA Revolution. He was already weakened and in fragile state due to Lupus when he left for exile in Hawaii. After 3 years of exile, the once fierce dictator succumbs to the Lupus complications in 1989. His wife Imelda Marcos was determined to have him buried in his homeland the Philippines. She kept Ferdinand Marcos’ body preserved until the day comes when they can finally return to their country. Many urban legends buzzed about that Imelda sleeps with the corpse whenever she had a chance.

While there’s no problem getting the Deposed Dictator buried, the Marcos family insisted that he be buried in “Libingan ng mga bayani” or “National Heroes Cemetery”. Majority opposed to the idea of having a ruthless dictator be buried alongside with national heroes. Imelda Marcos is reportedly in the talks with the Arroyo administration (known to be corrupt) to have the dictator buried there.

Should the Imelda Marcos succeeds in having her husband buried. It still doesn’t change the fact that her husband is a cruel, corrupt and ruthless dictator. It shouldn’t be a surprise if his headstone will be subjected to vandalization and what not.

I think Marcos was innocent. Marcos was framed up . Please Ninoy Aquino, let Marcos be buried in National heroes cemetery , I always believe that He was being framed and also, I can feel that Marcos was framed up by a group of Chinese who envied him for being good to Filipinos and he build school , hospital to educate all Filipinos. I think Marcos was really a good person. I got a ghost bumped and my instinct is telling me that Marcos was framed up by a group of Chinese business people. All the killings it was not Marcos idea. They paid bribes to framed up Marcos and killed Ninoy Aquino. Marcos and Aquino made them fight and hated each other by indirect and direct conspiracy. Marcos is a Virgo Man, he’s a very dedicated man and loved to serve people. Please Ninoy Aquino, allowed Marcos to be buried at National heroes cemetery. Marcos and Aquino were both INNOCENT AND they ‘re both VICTIMS OF CONSPIRACY! President Aquino, let the Marcos be buried in the National Heroes Cemetery and all Philippine people must reunited and must pull our head together. Thank You.

I feel disgust for the new age filipino commentators who posted their bullshits (as if they know a lot of what really happened during the reign of Marcos). Looking at the present state of the Philippines, these imbecile race now keeps saying we need to implement our laws etc. we need a good leader who has dreams for our country and not for their pockets etc… but if ever their leader does, they call him a dictator.

Do these pig race believe that Marcos destroyed their country? even after so many long years it’s all his fault? this is so funny as for all I can tell the present government is the system created by the Cojuanco families. those who got richer and have their relatives and friends enter the ranks in government which is why we have a worst case of nepotism, corruption and even senseless rallies. The promise to fix the previous regime is just a big lie in order to achieve wealth and power. For me, those who gained the most for an incident is highly the suspect rather than those who’d gain nothing from it.

What a waste of a leader, all his dreams for his fellow men were a waste of his time. Even his big projects for the philippines to be the major power in asia in terms of cleaner transportation (LRT Systems), cleaner and unlimited power (Nuclear Power Plant) and more were destroyed by this crazy race. Rallying all day, spreading chaos and violence which are obviously caused by Ninoy who was a known NPA supporter and rebel. so sad how these useless race forgot the good things he has done and blames him for a crime just for hearsay made by the corrupt media men aligned against Marcos. tsk

WTF? yes he WAS a very good president at his first term. During this time, Marcos was very active in the initiation of public works projects and the intensification of tax collections. Because of this our economy had risen. BUT, during his second term, his true image came out. He was accused of being corrupt. WHY? It was very obvious that the rich people, especially the Marcos cronies, became richer. What about the poor? Did they become richer? NO!!!. They became even poorer. This resulted to the increase of the crime rate. Which also resulted to the loss of our ompetitive edge in Southeast Asia. But he wasn´t contented with the second term. He wanted to run for the third time. How will he achieve this? A year before the elections, he declared martial law. dissolved the Philippine Congress and shut down media establishments critical of the Marcos government. Marcos also ordered the immediate arrest of his political opponents and critics. Among those arrested were Senate President Jovito Salonga, Senator Jose Diokno, and Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., the staunchest of his critics and the man who was groomed by the opposition to beat Marcos in the 1973 elections. Marcos would also abolish the Philippines’ 1935 constitution and replace it with a parliamentary-style government (the Batasang Pambansa) along with a new constitution written by him. With practically all of his political opponents arrested and in exile, Marcos’ pre-emptive declaration of martial law in 1972, and the ratification of his new constitution through political coercion, enabled him to effectively legitimize his government and hold on to power for another 14 years beyond his first two terms as president. See? HOW the F*** could he be a hero? WHY the f*** will he be buried with the heroes who fought for our freedom?
He also ordered many stores, hotels, schools, universities, and other public places to place his Presidential picture prominently or otherwise their facilities were shut down.
One of the comments here tells about the framing of Marcos by the Chinese but how the f*** can u explain this?
When the supporters of Aquino became more and he knew he might be dethroned, he ordered him to be assassinated.
Again, HOW the F*** could he be a hero? WHY the f*** will he be buried with the heroes who fought for our freedom?
PLEASE WAKE UP!!! YES HE HAS DONE GOOD THINGS FOR OUR COUNTRY BUT HE HAS DONE EVEN MORE BAD THINGS. I JUST DONT KNOW WHY SOME ******* PEOPLE EVEN LIKE HIM TO BE BURIED IN THE LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI. JUST F****** WAKE UP TO THE REALITY.

It just bothers me that until now we still argue whether Marcos was corrupt or not. To those who are Pro-Marcos and always say that he did good things like these projects he put up for our country I will have to say–Yes, we are thankful for those but it seems like we owe this projects to him. It was his job to make those–it was not from his own pocket–it was from the people’s money so why do we have to feel as if we owe him? This culture is still present and I’m sick of seeing politician’s putting up their names on every project they make– “Through the efforts of _________.”

To those who have benefited from Marcos (specially from those places where they both came) they would always praise him for all the things he’s done to them. Of course! they would! It’s a like kid who robs and kills and yet when he gets caught his mother would always say–”Oh my boy would never do that… he’s a good boy…”

I’ve comments like–”He was a good man because he was my dad’s friend and he was very good to us..” or “my father fought together with him during the world war II..” or “he was so good to us because when my son got sick he gave us money..”– any drug dealer, killer, rapist, robber, etc. could do that!!!

Some would say, “Get two-sides of the story.” I would agree entirely. Marcos had two sides of him just like the rest of us. We should praise him to the good things he’s done but at the same time we should also not deny that he also did a lot of evil things and these things should be known. Regardless of all the good things that he has made the evil things that he did somehow overshadowed everything and has metastasized like a growing disease. And no matter how you try to do good things he could no longer find any cure.

Some would also say–”Oh it was not Marcos it was Imelda who’s bad.” He’s the husband, the father, the lawyer, the president— I think he knows what’s happening and don’t you think he’s not in control? And same goes to making reasons like he was framed up or for any reasons at all. I think he was wise enough to know what’s happening and what he should do. He was such a wise man and I think he was capable of doing anything he wants. All that a dictator has to do is to— DICTATE! simple… and he can get things done.

He was like Hitler not that he was totally. Germany never believed that Holocaust ever happened and even until now there are groups who are trying to say that it never happened. While the rest of Germany was celebrating with Hitler’s accomplishments they didn’t know that he was also killing Jews mercilessly. For them he was their HERO just like some of us think that Marcos should be buried in the Heroe’s Cemetery.

To those who suffered during Marcos’ Regime making him a hero would be a such a big insult and if we do make such a risky move then this would make another nationwide or even worldwide attention. I hope that we should not stir things up again so we could move on. Our road to freedom and redemption is just taking so long. I hope we get there soon. I’m even glad the corrupt officials are being exposed right now. We should have a political overhaul.

I’m not Pro-Aquino as well but somehow I can’t help wondering what could have happened if Marcos stayed in power? If Mrs. Corazon chickened out and didn’t run for president I wonder what could have happened? She was not the best but at least she tried. I was kind of hoping that she would stop wearing yellow dresses but sad to say even until the time of her death she brings that color with her signifying that the fight for corruption is this country is still far from over.

I hope that we should be moving forward. I hope we don’t need another EDSA Revolution anymore. I also hope we get the whole truth about the Marcoses if ever that does happen. As long as we’re still breathing then I guess we still have hope.

    @Truth Commission:
the comments you read are not bullshits. That is their opinion. Now if you don’t agree with their view then its your problem. You don’t have the right to criticize them just because their opinion sucked. Saying that we are an imbecile race, doesn’t mean you’re not (get my drift?)
I’m not sure if your brain’s all fried up or what and I’m not saying that you know less about what really happened but you have no idea how harsh he was when he was in power.

One more thing, halata namang pilipino ka bakit ganyan nalang ang turing mo sa amin?
