JK ROWLING SUES Hogwarts Castle replica in India
“KOLKATA, India (AFP) - Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is suing organisers of a religious event for constructing a replica of her imaginary Hogwarts Castle in an eastern India city, officials said Thursday.
Rowling and her publishers Bloomsbury are seeking two million rupees (50,000 dollars) from the organisers constructing an elaborate castle from canvas and papier mache in Kolkata for the upcoming Durga Puja festival, court officials said.”
Isn’t JK already earning billions of pounds for her franchise alone. They don’t give a shit about people making fan art, selling doujinshi and even *gasp* some pirated version of Harry Pothead. Now she’s suing the organizers for “honoring” her overhyped creation. So the organizers didn’t asked permission, so what’s the big deal. They don’t actually profit from it. Do we all have to ask permission each time we make Harry Potter inspired thing? Don’t they know it’s the fandom that keeps JK and her cohorts on a payroll. I’m appalled and disgusted at this.
Now I’d like to see how they all stay afloat without the fandom. Now, rewind to the years where she’s struggling to get the book published. I bet she’ll pay good money for people to worship her creation. *Insert cuss words here*
